Aim of Ayurveda

The aim of Ayurveda can be categorized into two parts:

  1. Relief of misery of the suffering people

  2. Preservation of health of health people and to help them to attain the four principle aims of life which are as follows:

    1. Dharma: doing right things, which are good for the well being of the individual as well as his society

    2. Artha: to acquire wealth for the means of livelihood

    3. Kama: satisfaction of worldly desires and passions

    4. Moksha: attainment of salvation through liberation and God conciousness

Every individual has to attain these four primary objectives of human life, which are called the ‘purushartha.’ The base of world is in Dharma. Only if he attains dharma, artha and kama can he attain Moksha. Life depends upon the individual health and health in turn can be obtained if he obeys the Ayurvedic method of living.
