About Ayurveda

What is Ayurveda?

Ayurveda is a Sanskrit word which translates to mean β€œthe science of life.” Ayurveda is a healing system of India that dates back to 3000 BC. Ayurveda is a branch of the Vedas that embraces all asepcts of well being of living creatures - physically ,mentally and spiritually.
According to Ayurveda, health is not merely a considered to be a state of freedom from ailments or diseases, but rather a state of enjoying uninterrupted physical, mental and spiritual happiness and fulfillment.

From 2010-2012 I attended Sai Ayurvedic College and received an associates degree in Vedic studies as well as certification as a practitioner of Ayurveda. I spent November 2011 studying in depth in Kannur, Kerala India where we had classroom hours and Ayurvedic clinic visits.

The entire universe both animate and inanimate is made of these five elements.

These five elements form the structural entity of the body and makes each individual unique as a result of the different ratios and proportions of these elements in each unique person.

The body has a natural tendancy to maintain the natural state of equilibrium and disease occurs when this equilibrium is disturbed. To remain healthy, we should try to balance these energies in our body that are unique to each individual.
